It had been a fairly slow season as far as the trail cameras go here in Michigan on my lease until just a few days ago. This buck and a couple other shooters were hitting this particular mock scrape I had made in the summer the last two days. Luck would have it, I was able to finally get out for my second sit in Michigan. Nate and I did a hang and hunt right over this vine anticipating they do it again. Only to find out one of the shooters was tending a doe about 150 yards from where we hung up shortly after getting set up. Like clockwork, a lot of younger bucks were attempting to come in to the mock scrape we were sitting over. However, this 10 point wouldn’t even let them get close. Finally, a spike snuck into the vine, this buck came in to run him off and that was the last thing he did. Watched him tip over about 30 yards from where I first shot him. What an awesome hunt!
