3 YEARS IN THE MAKING

Nate and his buddy Trent have been chasing elk in Montana for the last 4 years and have yet to draw blood. On day 4 of their trip, they decided to go to a property that they had not yet touched. The plan was to get up high, and glass the agriculture fields down below in hopes of spotting elk leaving the fields. As luck would have it, they got eyes on a group of elk. They began working around the hill to get in a better position, and spotted a lone bull beneath them. They got in the same drainage as the bull in hopes of cutting him off. After a 45 minute wait, and no sign of the bull, they began working in the direction that they had last seen him. With winds gusting 40-50mph, the duo worked the terrain, and glassing ahead. They finally spotted the bull and were able to get in range. Persistence paid off! 4 years of grinding it out and they were happy to be heading home with elk meat!
