3 YEARS RUNNING

After having successful hunts in Oklahoma the past couple of years, JP was excited to get back down there this year to see if he could keep the streak alive.   Once again, Luke Palmer and his family welcomed us with open arms, putting us up and allowing us to run around on their ground to chase whitetails.  The first couple days were slow going.  We were seeing plenty of deer but just not the ones we were hoping to see.  A good drop in temperature showed up on day 3 and the action was on the rise.  On the evening of day 3, we set up overlooking a wheat field and about an hour before dark the does started pouring into the field.  Not long later, we looked to the east and watched this buck follow a doe out of the timber and she led him to the wheat field.  He stayed close behind her as she fed in the wheat out of bow range for almost 40 minutes.  Finally, she broke and came into bow range, and he was right behind her!  3 years straight in Oklahoma for JP.   Huge thank you to the Palmer family for the hospitality!
