MITTEN BUCK

Ross Weeks - Michigan - November 23rd, 2023

By: Brennen Nading (@nadingbr)

After having a couple of heartbreaking mishaps in Iowa, Ross was looking forward to taking a few days off and heading home to Michigan to spend Thanksgiving with his family.  Of course, he was also excited to spend some time hunting in the woods that he grew up hunting with his family.  Thanksgiving morning, Ross headed out to sneak in a morning hunt before the family dinner.  It didn't take long for the action to start.  His target buck, a nice 10 pointer, limped through the woods with a busted front shoulder but never presented Ross with a clean shot.  That buck no more than got out of sight and Ross turned around to see this nice buck limping through the prairie grass, also already wounded.  Ross made the quick decision to go ahead and finish the job.  Ross's sister assisted in the recovery and they made it home in time for Thanksgiving dinner!
